“Trends in wall insulations – reducing the negative impact on the environment in theory and practice.”
In light of the recent energy crisis, rising energy poverty, and our continued dependence on Russian gas imports, it appears evident that Europe can no longer afford inefficient buildings. The European Parliament has recently adopted its position Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, which will now enter the trialogue phase of negotiations. We expect that The Directive will generate significant savings while bringing a more sustainable and secure European building stock. Nonetheless, negotiations will be an uphill battle, as a large coalition of Member States strictly opposes mandatory renovations for individual buildings. EURIMA is working to ensure that the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive is strengthened during trialogues so that it may provide the necessary measures to boost energy efficiency in buildings across Europe.
