Prof. Gennadiy Farenyuk, Ph.D.
State Research Institute of Building Constructions (NIISK)
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Director of the State Institute of Building Technology, Head of TK-302 – Energy Efficiency of Buildings and Structures, Professor at the National Technical University of Ukraine – Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the Department of Thermal Energy Engineering and Energy Conservation. He has more than 45 years of practice in construction and building materials, especially in energy efficiency and conservation, as well as the development of legal frameworks and regulations for thermal insulation of buildings and energy performance. He participated in Ukrainian normative documents development on energy conservation and energy performance of buildings in the framework of the implementation of Directive 2010/31/EU. He participated in State Construction Norms development to establish basic requirements for construction works in Ukraine and the implementation of REGULATION (EU) No 305/2011 in the Ukrainian legislative field.
“Experimental evaluation of ETICS reliability factors”
A building should meet three main criteria: (1) general reliability, which defines the degree of protection of the person as an individual and the social group, (2) comfort, which sets the parameters of the thermal, acoustic, light, and gas environment and (3) economy, which determines the cost of the first two criteria. All these building parameters are determined by its heat-insulating layer with the overall structural concept, which affects the performance of the building, which is a comprehensive assessment of economic, social, and aesthetic indicators. The definition of the concept of thermal failure, as a fundamental concept of thermal reliability, is necessary to improve the design rules for heat insulation of buildings and regulation of heat engineering parameters of enclosing structures.
